Thank you for Googling Taco Vista, purveyors of the undisputed best tacos on Governors Island and home to one of the best views in New York City! We’ve got it all: Simple yet delicious food, thirst-quenching cocktails, service that is both informed and philosophically sound, a soundtrack that will leave you thinking deep thoughts for days, and did we mention a view that may very well ruin all other views for you ever again, sorry not sorry?

Like my mom has always said, why drive all the way to stupid Montauk when you could take a 7-minute boat ride and be steps away from the perfect mini-vacay at Taco Vista?!

How to get here

While our beachy vibes may totally scream SoCal to you, we’re actually a LOT closer to where you live than you think! We’re located steps off of the Manhattan ferry drop-off point as Soissons Landing (such a fancy name tbh), and just a short walk from the Brooklyn and NYC Ferry drop-off points.

BIG NEWS: We moved just a little bit to kick off the 2025 season! Our new address is 125 Carder Road, but there’s also a lil’ map below if you wanna plug that into your GPS! For those of you with great memories, it’s directly behind our old location (where Gitano used to be located).

We are now accepting nighttime reservations for Taco Vista, Governors Island's go-to spot for great food, delicious drinks, and awesome views!

Please note: this reservation is for a table, but we do NOT provide table service at our dining decks or waterfront seating. Our tented bar (open Friday - Sunday) provides table service.

We are open 7 days a week, and lunchtime is walk-in only. For groups of 15+, please contact us for catering packages at tacovistanyc@gmail.com.
